“Lickshots” is the first album (cd) by the italian-german band Rude & The Lickshots.
The band was founded in 2013 in Dresden (Germany) by Rude, singer, musician and DJ, multi-faceted artist who, over the years, has been involved in various projects: from Ghetto 84 to Roy Paci & Aretuska, from La Kinky Beat (Barcelona) and La Maquina, through the collaboration with Manu Chao, Obrint Pas, Beagle Boys, Fermin Muguruza, Cypress Hill, Che Sudaka, RedSka, etc.
The experiences around the world have pushed Rude, a.k.a. Luca Lombardo, born in Bologna (Italy) but German by adoption, to create a personal project in which, accompanied by Lickshots, could express with a tight sound & powerfull live gigs his love for the skinhead / early reggae, jamaican rock'n'roll with punk rock actitude and conscious strong lyrics.
"Rude & The Lickshots" band proposes a sound inspired by The Aggrolites, Toots & the Maytals, Ramones, Otis Redding, The Clash, Trojan Reggae sound, recorded in analogic way and in real time.
Lyrics in Spanish, English and Italian indicate the global rise of “boss reggae” and that’s witness of the union of the independent worldwide scene.
The new album "Lickshots" contains 15 tracks of "boss reggae" and soul with a sincere and real punk-rock attitude.
The album is released in Italy (One Step Records) and Germany (Mad Butcher Records).
After some very hot gigs in Basque Country & Catalunya, the band will be touring Europe, Japan and Mexico in 2014.
