Bavaria is famous for its beer, and the people there don´t compromise when it comes to that! SCRAPY also don´t compromise when it comes to their kind of ska... And so the second long-player from SCRAPY is another excursion through seamy bars, where skinheads, punk rockers, rude boys, and rude girls meet to party all night.
On Saturday night... the journey through an exhausting evening starts at the Local Pub. After one or another reference to punk/oi and rock'n'roll, it tells the story of the Saturday Night Drink Activists, takes a stop-over with rocksteady to relax a short time, and ends with the punk rock hymn Where did you go? Where are you now?
If you try to pigeonhole SCRAPY into a particular musical category, you´ll have a hard time, because the band combines streetpunk and oi elements with ska rhythms and melodies. Perhaps STREETSKA would be a more suitable name for SCRAPY. This music is the legitimate successor of the 2-Tone sound, because it also pushes ska with raw punk rock energy.
The lyrics of SCRAPY talk about love and longings, about disdain for big business wankers and yuppie scum, about the fun you can have as part of the skinhead/punkrock/rudeboy'n'rudegirl scene, and about the problems that exist even there (to say it clearly: a short-haired nazi will never be a skinhead!).
Over the last years SCRAPY has played shows with bands like SKOIDATS, SKARFACE, CITIZEN FISH, BAMBIX, PEACOCKS, LOADED, THE BUSTERS, SKALARIAK, THE BRACES, THE SLACKERS, BLUEKILLA, KLASSE KRIMINALE, SCHWARZ AUF WEISS, EASTERN STANDARD TIME, STAGE BOTTLES and NO RESPECT (amongst others).
And they enjoyed it... like the people who came there and did not know what they were about to do...
